POP! goes Northampton

Join the The School for Contemporary Dance and Thought (S.C.D.T.) and the  Arts Trust for POP Northampton! - a community-building, performance-based celebration of the new dance school and new downtown Northampton arts space on Thursday May 29 from 5:00 to 9:00pm at 33 Hawley. POP Northampton! will include live music by Bill O’Haire, and dance performances by SCDT affiliates and students. A dance party featuring local producer/DJ TAMBO follows, as well as a Northampton Arts Trust talk and tours of the building. For reservations call 413.695.1799. We request a $10 donation to the event.

From modern dance performance installations to hip-hop to contemporary Indian, SCDT has gathered a collective of professionals who have danced across the globe with world-renowned dance companies such at BB Miller and Bill T Jones. Performers include Melinda Buckwalter, PVPA’s dynamic Catalyst Dancers, Northampton’s intergenerational dance company the Dance Generators, Angie Hauser and Chris Aiken, Paul Matteson, Jake Meginsky, James Morrow, SCDT faculty Dahlia Nayar, SCDT co-director Jennifer Nugent, Bill O’Haire, SCDT co-director Jennifer Polins, Maureen Shea and her Valley Kids, and Christina Svane.
